Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my site goes down or gets hacked?
We find out before you do. Every plan includes 24/7 uptime monitoring and malware scanning, so an outage or infection alerts us automatically. If a site is compromised we quarantine it, restore from an off-site backup, and close the hole that let it in. Backups run to two separate locations and we test restores rather than assuming they work.
How quickly do you respond?
We’re usually working on a site outage or security incident before you email. Anything blocking business, like a broken form or checkout error, is same business day. Content edits and design updates are within 2 business days.
Who actually does the work?
The same small team every month, so you are never explaining your setup from scratch. You get a dedicated project manager who knows your site’s history, not a ticket queue.
Do I have to move my hosting?
Most clients do, and migration is free. Premium WordPress hosting is included in every plan, so it usually replaces a bill you’re already paying. If you need to stay where you are, tell us what you’re on and we’ll confirm what we can cover.
What's included with onboarding?

What counts as a content edit?
Text updates, image and PDF swaps, blog posts, team members, links and CTAs, hours and locations, announcements and promotions, and reordering existing page sections. Not sure if something counts? Just ask.
Where's the line between maintenance and a project?
Partner and VIP include design and layout work within your monthly hours, like restyling a page or fixing how something works on mobile. A full redesign, new template system, or platform migration is a project and we’ll quote it separately.
Do you work with third-party developers?
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate with developers, designers, and other vendors on behalf of our clients.
Do unused monthly hours roll over?
No. Your plan buys availability rather than a block of hours: monitoring, backups, security, and a team that already knows your setup, running whether or not you send a request. If you’re consistently running out of hours, you should be on a higher plan and we’ll tell you.
I have multiple websites. How does that work?
That’s our Portfolio plan, where most of our longest-running clients end up. Every property under one agreement, one project manager, one invoice, and shared monthly hours you can spend wherever the need is that month. It typically costs less than separate plans.
Do you maintain Shopify or Ghost sites?
Yes. Shopify stores have their own plans built around products, promotions, apps, and the checkout path, and we also support Ghost publications. If you run both a WordPress site and a Shopify store, they go under one Portfolio agreement.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel?
Yes to all three, any time. Month-to-month plans cancel with 30 days’ notice and annual plans include 2 months free. If you leave, you take everything: your site, domain, database, and hosting. We don’t hold anything hostage.
